About Me

Hi, I’m Gelica Tatarenko (she/her), a Registered Psychotherapist and a psychiatric emergency nurse. I specialize in trauma therapy with a focus on helping individuals and couples navigate the effects of complex trauma, secondary trauma, PTSD, burnout, workplace-related stress, relationship issues, and identity-related stress. My practice is grounded in trauma-informed and trauma-focused approaches. I bring my 12 years of lived experience working as a healthcare provider, as well as professional experience working with first responders, service members, healthcare workers, and racialized communities.

I offer virtual therapy across Ontario for adults and couples who are seeking compassionate, evidence-based support through experiences of anxiety, depression, PTSD, life transitions, workplace-related stress, relationship challenges, and emotional overwhelm. Whether you’re exploring your identity, healing from chronic stress, or navigating the impacts of caregiving or front-line work, my aim is to co-create a space where you feel seen, safe, and supported in your healing. I draw from modalities like EMDR, CBT, CPT, Gottman method, mindfulness, and somatic-based therapy to meet you where you are—with care, clarity, and cultural sensitivity. I speak English and Tagalog/Filipino fluently. To ensure therapy is accessible, I offer sliding scale fees. I offer a 20-minute complimentary consultation to connect and explore your needs.
